Host Arlene B. Mitchell's Interview with Child Actor Omar Kelly

Last week Host Arlene B. Mitchell met with an actor that she thought was very talented and he wasn't even trying to be.

It was more like he just wanted to be himself and at the same time allowed me to see his talent without pushing it in my face.  He was charming, sincere, no nonsense and very smart for his age.  His name is Omar Kelly and he is at the tender age of 13 at the moment. This young man has done television, film, print work, theater and I heard some of his voice overs as well.  Arlene watched a clip that was on his Youtube page and it had her laughing so hard she almost had tears in her eyes.  His attitude was easy going and very laid back as he was getting ready to go into his acting class.  She asked Omar questions and he answered them honestly and quickly while he listened for his class to be called.  Arlene was in the "One on One" acting studio at 34 West 26th Street with Omar's mom Linda and Arlene said: "She was a delight to talk to as she waited for her son to come out of class". Omar is already part of SAG-AFTRA and he is represented by the Shirley Grant Management Agency (SGM) and some of his hobbies are Hip Hop dancing, Martial Arts, Swimming, Beat Boxing, Drums also he can imitate voices and more. He explained to Arlene that he likes comedy and some of his favorite comedians are Martin Lawrence, Tyler Perry and he would like to meet Chris Rock. One of the most important questions that Arlene asked him was "What advice would you give other young actors coming up?" Omar's answer was 'Be confident!' and believe me he is very confident about himself and what he wants. Omar will be speaking with Arlene in an radio interview and he will also be coming on the TV show (TBA soon).  In the meantime you can read up on him on his website http://www.omarkelly.org/ and connect and follow him on Twitter https://twitter.com/#!/JaleelOmar You can also find out quite a bit of information at his IMDB page at http://www.imdb.me/omarkelly and you can check out his videos on his Youtube page at http://www.youtube.com/user/Kellyls1

When you get a chance check out his pages out if you are a Director, Casting Director, Fan or more!!!
We could write more but we will save all of the big talk for the show so you get all the information straight from Omar.

To Linda, You are a wonderful mom, intelligent and very sincere with your goals and help towards your son. There need to be an award for people like you who push others to the height of their lives without asking for anything in return except love. You have shown us that diligence, understanding and confidence with a huge dash of love goes a long way.  Bless you Linda and we do wish you and your son much success!

Host Arlene B. Mitchell's Interview with New York State Senator Ruben Diaz (D) 32nd Senate District, Dr. Alveda King (Founder of King for America) and Thea Ramirez (Founder of Adoption-Share)

Host Arlene B. Mitchell's Interview with New York State Senator Ruben Diaz (D) 32nd Senate District, Dr. Alveda King (Pastoral Associate and Director of Afican-American Outreach with Priests for Life and Founder of  King for America) and my good friend Thea Ramirez (Founder of Adoption-Share)

Wow, What can I tell you about how I felt!!!  It took me a whole day to wrap my head around being able to speak with such honored guests as Senator Diaz, Dr. King and my friend Thea Ramirez.

Click to listen to my interview with New york State Senator Ruben Diaz, Dr. Alveda King and Thea Ramirez

Senator Ruben Diaz was such a intelligent, kind and wise man to speak to, he said what he thought, had so much respect and he is very straight forward with his words. I respect his decisions and really feel that he does his very best to make life better in quality and more for everyone he cares about and to me that all of us.  He spoke to me with such manners although I hold a much smaller position with helping people than he does. He made me feel as if we totally knew one another in the business world.  Men like that do not come along everyday, they come along only in short time spans so when they do we better stand up and take notice of them.

(D) 32nd Senate District
(Thank you Senator Ruben Diaz, you are indeed a gentlemen and bold never change!)

Dr. Alveda C. King was a giant fireball full of life and energy!!!  She was thoughtful, sensitive, sweet and very aware of the people.  When I first heard her voice I thought just for a brief moment Geez, it's Dr. Martin Luther king's niece but my thought stopped as I listened to her speak and it changed to Wow, Dr. Alveda C. King, she is a women in her own right, doing her thing with grace and power.  She make me fell like there is so much more I can do to help others and as she spoke I did think about the contributions that she and her family have make to our lives all these years (very touch act to follow). While talking to her I felt more like family than just a woman interviewing her.  I almost cried on the air but I knew that was a no no to show that type of emotion although I did feel it.

Pastoral Associate and Director of Afican-American Outreach with Priests for Life and Founder of King for America
(Bless you Dr. Alvveda C. King, you are a wonderful light to strong to burn out!)

Thea Ramirez my friend, She was terrific!!!  She brought humanity into the conversation at a high level and with a great understanding of what alternative can be considered.  In this day and time things are very hard put that with having children for the average family and you have a recipe for money problems and more.
Thea explained how you could go from thinking about abortion and the reasons why. Also why people feel the way they do about it and there being so much controversy about it. I feel what she is doing is quite amazing because she is saving lives and that high on my list.  She is stead fast and moving straight ahead with spreading important information and more through her websites and more,  She also put all of this together and for that I will always grateful!

MSW Founder of Adoption-Share (This site will give you information if you are looking to adopt a child and it can be an abortion alternative!)
(Thank you Thea for all your help and may God Bless you always!

Check in again because they all have stated that they wouldn't mind coming back on the radio show so you better believe that I will make those calls and ask them again. I love it when guests make me smile and they did!

Behind the scenes with Comedian Rashad Bashir

Funny, Hilarious and Outrageous all of those words and more expresses how I feel about my upcoming guest Comedian Rashad Bashir!!!  I had an meeting with him on 4/30/2012 at Union Square in NYC.
He is quick, quirky and he can improvise on the spur of the moment he did it for me a joke about XS Energy Drinks and had me almost with tears in my eyes lol.  Rashad is a natural when it comes to knowing comedy and what the people want.  He has the ability to observe an audience, quickly get into the right joke pattern and then hit them with it right in the chuckle spot.  At our meeting he was very straigh forward and polite as he explained to me why he choose comedy.  He likes helping others and feels that laughter is the best medicine for healing a person's mind and soul.  I do agree with him that it relieves stress and anxiety a well as mood swings and more. He wanted to to comedy ever since he was 9 years old, he loves laughing and really got into it when he got into high school.  He wanted to be popular so he did imitations of the schools faculty. Sean likes to think out of the box and he wants to be one of a kind and that is what he strives for. He is thinking of opening a comedy workshop, he says "You have to be a natural with comedy".  Sean calls himself "the Heckler King" and some of his favorite comedians are Mike Epps, Arnez J, Dave Chapelle, All the kings of Comedy: DL Hugley, Steve Harvey, Bernie Mac and Cedric The Entertainer. He also likes Redd Foxx, Eddie Murphy and Richard Pryor.  His favorite movie is Beverly Hills Cop (Love that one myself).  He wants to appear on "Who's Got Jokes" as well as working with Perry Strong doing a documentary on comedians. He says that there a three things to being a good comedian and you will find out if you tune in and watch the show on cable or catch pieces of it on Youtube  http://www.youtube.com/arlenebrownmedia or my main website : http://arlenebrownmedia.ezweb123.com if you tune in you can catch his advice for upcoming comedians, what he is up to know and what the future holds for him.  Take a moment and check out his page on FB at https://www.facebook.com/rbashir2

Behind the Scenes: Filming with Entrepreneur Sean Felder

Wow, what can I say!!! I was filming a show on Saturday 4/28/2012 on Times Square 47th Street with guest Entrepreneur Sean Felder and it was wonderful!  You can find the behind the scenes video at:  http://youtu.be/x8zOr_tYT1U   The sky was bright, music was playing everywhere, there were crowds of people, my team was ready (My Personal Assistant Monasier, My Cameraman Justin and Photographer Royce) and my guest Entrepreneur Sean Felder was in high gear talking about the XS Energy Drinks, his Class Action Law Suit against Amway Global for discrimination against him. They say that he did promotions that were not acceptable and Sean says that he wasn't being paid as well as get other services that were supposed to be provided to all of the sellers of XS Energy Drinks.  He explains a great deal of what is going on with the suit and he will be on the show 2 more times and give us updates.  Sean also talked about the song that is being created for him by female Rap Artist Pretty Stizzy about the XS Energy Drinks (I have been in talks with her about being on the show).  Sean also expressed his ideas to do what he calls his "XS Movement Takeover" and that means getting his product in every store that he can, being in as many magazines as he can, on Youtube and what ever other promotions that he can arrange.  I can say that I do understand his thoughts on being promoted everywhere he can be in whatever time frame he can give. Sean has a DVD coming out and he will also give the information about that on another show and any additional information that arises with his fast paced career choices.  The energy drinks that he sells have no sugar and no caffeine now I find that totally amazing!!!  I use to drink another energy drink a few years ago, I won't say the name but it is a major product and it had a great deal of sugar.  When I drank it I did get the energy and then it cashed me and make me so tired I couldn't finish the work pace I needed at the time.  I think that if you want to become an Entrepreneur  you have to have the drive, insight into what you want and the determination to get it Sean Felder has it for sure!

I like Sean's slogan  "Amp Up Your Lifestyle"

You can get the energy drinks by going to Sean's websites (FB and Blogspot)

From The Desk Of Arlene B. Mitchell: Interview With My Personal Assistant

I met Monasier a few weeks ago and asked her to be my Personal Assistant and she is a joy to work with.

Moasier was sort of shy but very straight to the point about her life and career. Her goals in life are very high and that a great thing in this day and time if you want to survive and not get caught up in failure. Monasier is young, bright and talented in her field she is a MakeUp Artist.  She can do any nationality and skin type from regular to oily.  Monasier did my makeup for an upcoming show that I just filmed and it was under extreme circumstances.  We were running late, the sun was beaming and there was crowds of people but she worked fast, she was focused, she came with everything needed to make me look like I was fresh and totally ALIVE!  The crowd didn't even seem to faze her as they walked by, some stopped and stared and others just clicked their cameras.  She made me feel very relaxed and calm even though I reading some papers which the guest Entrepreneur Sean Felder (XS Energy Drinks) gave me before the shows taping. Her Ora, attitude and willingness to be part of the team really showed. She is a people person for sure and a very hard and dedicated worker.  Monasier did her training at the Media Makeup Academy and worked with teachers like Amanda Shackleton, Nika Vaughan, Bryan Lynde, Judie Tallman, and Diana Solomon. She also worked with Photographer Gen Nishino.  You can check out her page on FB at
