Honest Power In The Political World, Maybe Arlene?

From The Desk Of Arlene B Mitchell:

Honest Power In The Political World, Maybe Arlene?

When you think about who you are, where you come from, what you have done and what you will do where does that take your mind?  If you saw injustice and could do something other than ranting, raving and complaining about it would you?

For me it makes me think about the fact that I am a woman, I was born in New York City, I have been as honest as walking into the Chase Bank opening a business account, putting in $50 and when I realized that the bank teller wrote $500 on my receipt upon leaving the bank I went back in and corrected his mistake by telling him although I could have stayed quite and kept the money. I have done as bad as getting angry with someone and allowing it to grow until I came to terms with the fact that anger doesn't enhance your life it takes away from it.  However the question of what I will do, hmmm that is one that I pondered over for sometime after a conversation with a very dear cousin of mine Raymond Tibbs and Lenny Mitchell who believes as I do that our political system could use some honest people that care about human life as well as get the earth back on it's glory days look and feel.  When I did an interview with Senator Ruben Diaz, Dr. Martin Luther King's Niece Alveda King and Thea Ramiriez - http://www.blogtalkradio.com/arlenebrownmedia/2012/05/21/speaking-w-senator-ruben-diaz-alveda-king-thea-ramirez on Blog Talk Radio my brains kept moving in thoughts about the political area.  The truth about the start of my thoughts about the matter of which I am about to speak of run much further back and it has to do with a woman that came to my door and she was running for Assembly Woman. She lived in a building not directly across from me but to the right of my building when you walked out of it. I no longer live there but my thoughts always go back there I guess great thoughts never fade away!  Back to the present: After I did the interview I wondered like so many others have, if you saw injustice and could do something about it would you?  Well of course in many cases people often complain, rant or rave about something that is wrong or someone that is doing something wrong.  I do complain but I am the type of person that will stand up if I can as I am very grounded in mind, body and spirit.  By that I mean if it can be done I will try it mind, body and soul. This is what I feel is a must to live a productive life and it stands to be very true no matter where I look, what I read and what I hear.  Now coming to the big part of this article, I ask this question openly.  If you were given two candidates for public office and you were aware they were both not perfect because everyone has made mistakes in their lives that is a given.  One had all the necessary degrees, had the input on what needed to be done but was totally corrupted by money more than human lives and the other one had very few or no degree, had the input on what needed to be done but was totally all about human lives which one would you vote for and put in office?

That brings me to what i am about to say my cousin, Raymond Tibbs mentioned to me that I should think about entering the political arena some time ago.  When he stood in my home and said it I thought, what, stop playing I could never do that!  Even though I knew to myself that I wanted changes based on what I read, hear and know about what type of state we are in politically and most of all what is happening with people.  In doing my interview with Senator Ruben Diaz, Dr. Martin Luther King's Niece Alveda King and Thea Ramiriez I understood more about people that care enough to do the right thing regarding people no matter what the cost.  As far back as I can remember I have been that way human, animals and earth orientated and always will be.  They once did what others have done stood, listened, looked and spoke but the difference was they DID something to change things.  I help people, they help me back but I always felt in my heart that it isn't enough I want to make a real difference in everyday life but not ruled by money, fame or having someone owe me.  There are so many others that are waiting to really help and can but aren't given a chance because politically we have been picking people based on other peoples opinions not what really is best for human lives.  People who will really fight for these issues: better community projects, health insurance that is reasonable, more productive schooling that is geared towards getting teens ready for the job world, better quality food, lower prices on totally necessary everyday needed items, complete rent control, housing that is affordable, programs for children where they actually background check potential employees and have them watched closely for a good time period.  More job creation in companies that dominate the retail market, minimum wage pay scale needs to be higher because of the economy and that is just to name a few things that need to be really fought for.  We all rally for changes and I am no different except that I want to go to the people that vote on the changes or become one of the people that vote on the changes and get it moving (smile). To me I feel what is the use of having a mind, voice, eyes and hearing if I never really use it to do something more than waking everyday, growing older, complaining, ranting or raving but never taking a stand on changing anything.  It is alright to help others, companies and more by showing support through Liking, Following or Subscribing if in the end you needed some help from that person or company for any of the things that I mentioned above and they didn't even acknowledge that you were alive or gave you the "Thank You, glad you agree" brush off.  That is how I feel about some of what is going on with our communities, families and more with corrupt political power.  So I have been, started to go for and still would like to become an Assembly Woman!!!!  Last year I met with a young man who says that he can help make that happen as he has dealt in the political field and I backed out because I felt in order to do it I know requires a team of people and some HUGE plans for trying to get all of the changes done.

In the end I know that it can mean a difference: better lives, health and a great deal of happiness for all of the people that I fight for if I do it.

Are you with the idea of putting Honest Power In The Political World maybe me?
Looking to put together a hellraising team to get things done in Washington, are you interested?
